Essentials Of Podcasting

$0.00

Radio on the Lake Theatre's Essentials of Podcasting program introduces students to the term "podcast" which generally means “intentional non-scripted speaking that is recorded into a microphone and then is posted on the internet”. The program's super objective in implementation is simple: to give participants a voice.

Podcasts are often dependent on the participants in the program and can include things such as conversational podcasts, game show podcasts, or storytelling podcasts. Themes for conversational podcasts include but aren’t limited to sports, music, DND, anime, arts, television, politics, movies, animals, etc. Aside from conversational, podcasts could be a series of poems read by the students or a chance for students to tell their stories about their homes and their lives. Students are encouraged to take the “prompt” of each podcast genre/style and get creative; talk about what they want to say – give them a chance to be heard.

All Radio on the Lake Theatre programming incorporates Social Emotional Learning. We strive to give students a space where they can create and think freely in a safe environment. This program - and all of our programs - are designed to give space for healing and growth in students so that they can use the artform as a learning tool. Radio on the Lake focuses on the power of empathy as a leading light in our programming. Students' increased self and social awareness through the exploration of their voice leads to strengthening skills in empathy.

ROTLT offers the Essentials of Podcasting program at any age range in K-12th grade. The program is best suited for mid-term residencies (5-15 sessions), but is available at any length of implementation. The program is available in any implementation setting (ie. In School, Afterschool, Rec Centers, etc.)
