Linda Zolten Wood
Linda Zolten Wood earned her BFA from Cleveland Institute of Art in 1987. She started out as a scenery and props artist at Cain Park and The Cleveland Play House, then went on to create large-scale murals in the Greater Cleveland Region.
She became inspired by conservation principles influenced by her 1988 travels in India, with a 'no waste' ethic, in which practically everything is re-used in some way, and water is viewed as precious. Linda received a 2013 Community Partnership of Arts and Culture ‘Artist in Residence Grant’ and The Cleveland Foundation's Neighborhood Connections Grant for her Collinwood Painted Rain Barrel.
In 1993, Linda won The Cleveland Museum of Arts’ Parade the Circle Poster/T-Shirt Design competition, and she held a solo exhibit in The Corning Gallery at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History, where she taught wildlife drawing. She currently teaches acrylic painting at Kirtland Public Library, Fairmount Center for the Arts and Shore Cultural Centre and has taught Upcycled Arts Exploration at Cleveland Institute of Art’s Continuing Education.
