Kahzar Rublon
Kahzar Rublon is a visual artist who specializes in realistic portrait drawings. Kahzar graduated from Kent State University in 2017 with an Integrative Studies Degree in Psychology, Writing and Pan-African Studies. Kahzar’s work is heavily inspired by contemporary African-American culture as well as inner-personal growth and reflection.
Kahzar is certified in trauma-informed teaching, and has served as a teaching artist for over 6 years, teaching and mentoring students in the areas of visual arts and creative writing. Kahzar has partnered with a number of organizations including the Mural Arts Program of Philadelphia, the Cleveland School of the Arts, and CALs longest running Artworks Program, helping students to advance their art making skills and build high quality artist portfolios.
Kahzar aims to empower students with life-long skills such as patience, resilience, creative and emotional expression, perserverance and self-confidence. In addition to teaching arts classes, Kahzar also facilitates arts-based support groups for youth, addressing topics such as goal setting, conflict resolution, self-care and mindfulness through the acts of journaling, meditation and reflection.
